Innovations on Troeschyna light rail line
On October 24th , 2012 in the presence of Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and head of Kyiv city council Olexandr Popov the renewed light rail line of Troeschyna residential neighborhood has been formally opened. Stations of reconstructed rapid tram route #4 running from Myloslavska str to Troeschyna-2( Rayduzhna) transfer station of city train have been equipped with turnstile groups as well as paper ticket and contactless card validators .
Rapid tram route #5 running from Saburova str to Troeschyna-2 station will now feature trains with reconstructed cars equipped with electronic validators for fare collection. Same validators are installed in trolleybuses of special routes running from transfer junction on Vatutina str to stations on the right bank of Dnipro river.
The major purpose of this reconstruction was to create incorporated routes “light rail-city train” and “light rail-trolleybus” that will enable passenger transfer between key transport junctions of the right bank, such as Petrivka metro station and Troeschyna neighborhood for the discount price of 2 UAH.
Card-Systems took part in this project as a chief design engineer of the public transport automatic fare collection system. The unique feature of this project is an electronic validation technology of single-time paper tickets with “friend or foe” function and anti-reuse protection. Validators operate in both ‘turnstile” built-in form and as a mounted devices, installed in the cabin of a vehicle.
